文筆家の高山治と彼の妻ヨシ子は、平穏な毎日を過ごすごく普通の老夫婦。しかし、ある日突然、ヨシ子が認知症になってしまう。治は少しずつ自分を見失っていく妻を見守ることしかできないでいた。やがて、彼もガンであることが発覚し、2人は特別養護老人ホームと病院で別々に暮らすことになる。

A woman has a fine life with rewarding work, a nice house, and a serious boyfriend in the lowlands of Japan. In walks her long lost husband who years ago disappeared and abandoned her. The wife allows her lost husband to secretly live in her house. More specifically, he lives in the wife's closet. The closet has a peep hole, so he does nothing day and night but watch his wife live her life.

When 22-year-old Ikuko gets fired from her editing internship right before her college graduation instead of getting hired, she turns to her schoolteacher father for advice. Instead, he tells her, "I've decided to become a singer! Sort your own life out!" Confused, Ikuko gets on a boat to the town of Takarazuka, home of the musical industry, to see her classmate Mari. Mari introduces her to an accountant named Yoshie, and together the three of them move into a house they call "The Women's House: Die Fraulein".

第二次世界大戦末期の北支戦線。クズ兵士ばかりを集め危険な任務に当たらせる“独立愚連隊”と呼ばれる部隊に、従軍記者の荒木がやってくる。交戦中に中国人慰安婦と心中したという、見習士官のことを調べに来たという。実は荒木の正体は大久保元軍曹であり、彼こそ見習士官の実の兄であり、弟の死の真相を知るため戦地に赴いたのだった。死んだ慰安婦の妹から紙片を渡された大久保は、弟が上官の不正を部隊長に告発しようとして、その上官から逆に殺されたことを知る。

On Wings of Love is a 1957 Japanese romantic musical film directed by Toshio Sugie. It was Toho's highest-grossing film of the year and the first film released in Tohoscope.

The cabaret «Romance», run by Masami Daisaku's father, is experiencing financial difficulties, and Masami is betting on changes and asks singer Hibari Misora to perform. Musical youth comedy with young actors, passion, funny songs and laughter. Hibari Misora appears as herself.

With one of the busiest film industries in the world, Japan was able to submit several films into competition at the 1957 Berlin Film Festival. One of the best of these was Arashi, directed by Hiroshi Inagaki of Rickshaw Man fame. Anticipating Hollywood's Table for Five by nearly a quarter of a century, the film concerns the efforts by a recently widowed high-school teacher to raise his four children alone. Chihu Ryu is terrific as the central character, while Izumi Yukimura is even better as Ryu's eldest daughter. For reasons unknown, Arashi is often omitted from "official" lists of Inagaki's films.
