北海道札幌市。１７歳の女子高生、鈴木希は、同じ高校で教師をしている父と専業主婦の母との３人暮らし。最近は家族の会話もなく静かに家庭崩壊が進行している。そんな希は両親には内緒でススキノにある女子高生専門のコンパニオンクラブでアルバイトしていた。いわゆる援助交際とは違い、食事を一緒にして、カラオケに付き合って話をするだけ。そんなある日、なじみ客の妻がコンパニオンクラブに押し掛け刃傷沙汰を起こしてしまう。この事件がきっかけで希は勤勉実直な交番巡査の小林と出会う。その頃、女子高生たちの間では“夢のマンホール”の噂が広まっていた……。
