冒険家の両親とペルーのジャングルで探検の日々を送る少女ドーラ。彼女が１６歳になった時、両親はインカ文明の伝説の都市パラパタの調査の旅に出ることに。ドーラはロサンゼルスで暮らす従兄弟ディエゴ一家の元に身を寄せ、高校生活を開始。ところがある日、ドーラは犯罪者集団に誘拐され、そのままペルーまで連行される。何とか謎の男性アレハンドロに助けられたドーラだったが、両親が危機に陥っていることを知る。
