Ami Priyono is an Indonesian film actor and director.
Dedi (Dede Yusuf), who married Menul (Ayu Azhari), when they were very young, tries to make a living as a clown at an amusement park. This job does not pay enough for him to make ends meet, so he and a number of his friends try to find a way out of the poverty they are trapped in. The opportunity comes when they find a the wallet of a wealthy man, who is impressed when they return it to him, and provides them with the capital to open a food stall, which they use as a stepping stone toward opening a restaurant. Through this story, the director, Chairul Raya, attempts to depict the way of life of the poor, while using the subplot of the love story between the clown and his wife to display his disdain for the mainstream tendencies in the Indonesian film industry. This film is at once moving and humorous.

The story of two young people from wealthy families who are looking for their own individual identities. Ramona (Lydia Kandou), who hates the patriarchal attitude men have toward women, immerses herself in the lives of the less fortunate people around her. Ramadhan (Djamal Mirdad), who is descended from Malaysian nobility, is in Jakarta gaining work experience as a low level company employee. The two young people meet in Jakarta and begin to like each other. The blossoming romance between these two young people who are each keeping their backgrounds secret from the other conveyed in a light and humorous tone. Eventually, however, they find out about each others' backgrounds. Ramona backs off, while Ramadhan continues to pursue her.
This movie is a remake of Pengantin Remadja 1971 original version which is also one of indonesian legendary love story movie such as Badai Pasti Berlalu, Gita Cinta SMA, etc. This Movie tells the love story among two of teenage kids unfortunately restrained by difference in social status of both family which are diplomat and farmer family.
Some Scenarios have changed compare to original one which ends tragically. In the original 1971 starring by Widyawati and Sophan Sophian while in this remake Pengantin Remaja 1991 replaced by Vivi Samodro and Bucek Depp. The Musical illustrations are also impressive. Both of original Pengantin Remadja 1971 and this remake 1991 are directed by the same person Wim Umboh and music arranger Idris Sardi.
Like the film’s title, Parody of the Capital resembles a sketch of the community. Oom Pasikom, a cab driver, is stingy because of his measly income. Conversely, his wife moves within the high social circle and is a spendthrift due to her business as jewelry broker. Through Oom Pasikom’s glasses, small stories of the city are told - the ladies’ social gathering, lonely wives, the cleaning of the city and how it affects the small businesses, a student who is writing her thesis and so on.

For the sake of a big project, Egy, is ordered to approach Eya, the mistress of a powerful official. He reclaims his rights as a husband back.
