1941年、英国の戦略会議室において、ある極秘計画が立てられる。それは、ベルギー領コンゴの鉱山から、原爆の製造に必要なウランをドイツに運んでいるナチスの潜水艦を奪取し、潜水艦ごとウランをアメリカへ運ぶというもの。その無謀な任務を遂行する役目を任された、スタン率いるベルギーのレジスタンス集団は、目標のUボートを奪うと、ドイツ人捕虜のフランツを艦長に据え、アメリカ目指してUボートをいざ出航させる。
