In this futuristic science fiction thriller, government security agent Jerry Hipple has been unsuccessfully tracking the city's most infamous criminal - The Red Harvest Killer. When two nomadic lovers, Katia and Gladys enter the city the death count rises and are being credited as Red Harvest killings. Obsessive compulsive Adrian, the actual Red Harvest Killer, becomes furious that the sexy serial killing duo are grabbing media attention under his alias. Not only does Adrian attempt to reclaim his rightful reputation but he also decides to cleverly aid his detective counterpart through the case. All the while, killers and victims alike are unaware the world is about to reach an abrupt catastrophic ending.

The film centers around retired police detective Derrick Stanswood (Mann), who is called by a successful doctor about an unsolved case involving his wife Maggy (Cottrel) and their son, Cole (newcomer Kevin Fennell). Chasing after loose ends in a backward rural town, Derrick has no idea that Maggy has been held captive for the past eight years by farmer Lukas Walton (K.J. Linhein, "Jebediah"), who is raising Cole as his own son in a wrongful world that holds its own horrors (http://mrpotent.com/deerCrossing/).

Angus Booley has recently lost his job. His wife is cheating on him, and his daughter (Carmela Hayslett of Roxsy Tyler fame) is tormented by her schoolmates. Angus, however, finds hope in a set of self-help DVDs ("You are the hammer; they are the nails.) and the life of a serial murderer.

2035年、人類は謎のウイルスによって99％を失い、絶滅寸前に陥っていた。その原因を探るべく、受刑者のジェームズがタイムトラベルの実験台にされ、過去の世界へと送られる。手掛かりとなるのは“12モンキーズ”という謎めいた言葉だけ。まずウイルスが発生する6年前、1990年にたどり着いたジェームズだが、警察に逮捕され、心の病を治す施設に送られてしまう。彼はそこで、ジェフリーという男に出会う。

フィラデルフィアの一流法律会社に務めるアンドリュー・ベケット（トム・ハンクス）は、ある日突然エイズと宣告され、ウィラー社長（ジェイソン・ロバーズ）に解雇される。不当な差別に怒ったベケットは、損害賠償と地位の保全を求めて訴訟を決意。だが、次々と弁護を断わられた彼は、以前敵同士として渡り合ったやり手の弁護士ジョー・ミラー（デンゼル・ワシントン）を訪ねる。ミラーはエイズに対して、抜きがたい恐怖を感じていた。しかし、世間の冷たい視線に対しても毅然と対処し、熱心に資料を漁るべケットの姿に、ミラーの心は動かされる。ミラーは弁護を引き受け、母のサラ（ジョアン・ウッドワード）をはじめ、ベケットの肉親たちは彼に熱い支援を約束する。解雇から7カ月後、〈自由と兄弟愛の街〉フィラデルフィアで注目の裁判が開廷した。ミラーは解雇が明らかな法律違反だと主張したが、対する会社側の主任弁護士ベリンダ（メアリー・スティーンバージェン）は、彼の弁護士としての不適格性を激しく突く。予断を許さぬ裁断の行方と並行して、ベケットの症状は次第に悪化していく。裁判を優先させて本格的治療を先に延ばそうとする彼に、恋人でライフパートナーのミゲール（アントニオ・バンデラス）は苛立つ。ベケットは恋人のため、自分のためにパーティを開く。遂にベケットは裁判中に倒れ、病院に運ばれた。ミラーは原告側の勝訴の報を、ベッドの上のベケットに告げる。数日後、大勢の人々に見守られながらベケットは静かに息を引き取り、ミラーはかけがいのない友の死を実感した。
