It’s got it all, dark and moody atmosphere, a haunting score (infused with some synthpop disco numbers), gory ghostly killings, and some truly inventive cinematography. Princess Cinderella gives birth to a baby girl. The king, the baby’s father, gives her the name, Ira Maya. The neighboring King, who plans to betroth the baby with his son, attends the big party for the baby’s birth. The celebration is ruined with the appearance of the Wicked Witch who curses that Ira Maya will die if a needle pricks her. This is actually the plot of the Stepmother who wants to ruin Princess Cinderella’s happiness. To avoid this evil plan, Ira Maya is raised in the forest by the four good fairies. They keep moving and Ira Maya even changes her name to Mawar because the Wicked Witch is hunting her. When Mawar is an adult, she plays by the waterfall and meets a hunter. The good fairies explain to him who Mawar actually is. When she is approaching 17, Ira Maya and the four good fairies return to the palace. But the Step Mother and the Wicked Witch still want to see her suffer and even hunt the Hunter, who is actually the son of the neighboring King.

A woman is seduced by and cast aside by a fickle lover. When the lover marries another woman who starts hallucinating during their wedding, she is accused of being a witch and thrown to her death over a cliff. A strange man rescues her, nurses her back to health, and is told that she must master black magic in order to exact vengeance on her tormentors. She casts a variety of spells over the populace--with the male population as her favorite target, and becomes the queen of black magic. But who, exactly, is the man, and does he have other plans?

Bung and Mas are two caretakers in an orphanage at the outskirts of the city. One night, Bung and Mas find a baby abandoned at their front yard. They have a dilemma: if they take it, they are afraid of being scolded by the head of the orphanage, Mr. Sastro; if they do not take it, it is against their conscience and profession. So they take the baby, and are relieved that he is well accepted by Mrs. Sastra and the children in the orphanage. Then Bung and Mas have an altercation with some thugs who chase them, and a car hits them so they end up in the hospital. But in the end, the children they care for are the ones who protect them.

Things spiral out of control for a dissatisfied wife after she cheats on her impotent husband with one of his employees.

Three students, Tommy, Rita, and Robert, and their guides head into the jungle to study primitive tribes separated from civilization. However, the students say the one tribe they visit isn't primitive enough, and they want to find some really savages, and to locate the legendary cannibal tribe supposedly living in the area.

Ateng’s tomfoolery saves his employer from a robbery attempt by Bagio and his gang. He succeeds as he knows Bagio’s secret fear of cats. As a result, Bagio constantly targets him especially when he recovers a diamond that Bagio wants. Then Iskak gets a job and falls in love with another servant, Supini. To secure the relationship, Ateng sends a letter Supini’s name to Iskak, and vice versa, thus creating more comedic confusion.

Ateng is spoiled by his grandmother and this troubles his parents since Ateng is a little mentally challenged and needs special education from a teacher. The presence of Iskak, a village kid who is adopted and brought there to accompany Ateng is also a worry as Iskak always has ideas for his own profit. Ateng becomes very dependent on Iskak, so when Iskak is told to leave after he is accused of stealing a neighbor’s watch (though unproven), Ateng is very upset. Then he climbs up a water tower and refuses to come down until Iskak returns.

Don Ateng Singaleon throws a party and the beautiful Dona Vivi attends and immediately gains Iskak Kreolibo’s attention. But the party is disrupted by the arrival of the Kribo tribe who want to seek revenge for an incident at the lake. One day, Papai the sailor appears and he gets along well with Dona Vivi until Iskak becomes jealous. Later, Iskak uses the Kribo tribe to help him get his way. The story itself can be considered superfluous as they merely set up the jokes for the scenes.

Linda gives birth to an illegitimate child from a relationship with her boyfriend, Alex, who dies in an accident. To avoid a scandal, her father asks his younger sibling to take the baby to Cirebon. Linda is then told that the baby is dead. The baby, Yatim, is treated badly by the caregiver. The caregiver steals the money sent by Linda’s father to support the baby, so Linda’s father gets angry when more money is demanded. Linda overhears the conversation and is told the truth. So Linda goes to Cirebon to pick up her child but Yatim has already run away to Jakarta to look for her. He is aimless and homeless, and becomes a shoe polisher. A children’s toy seller hears a radio broadcast looking for the missing child and advises Yatim to go meet his parent. Yatim refuses, and instead gets hit by a car. Finally, they are reunited at the hospital.

A man is murdered, his wife is kidnapped and their young son is thrown into a ravine. The child grows up with a deformity and is known around the village as Si Bongkok ("The Hunchback"). After receiving martial arts training, he seeks revenge on the man who killed his father.
