He explored the area extensively during the mid 19th century and created a map of the island that included parts which had been ignored by earlier cartographers. He visited Ainu communities and compiled records of the large numbers of the population who had been conscripted for forced labor far from their homes. Matsuura suggested the name Hokkaido for the area

紀元前245年、中華西方の国・秦。戦災で親を失くした少年・信(山崎賢人)と漂(吉沢亮)は、大将軍になる夢を抱きながら剣術の特訓に明け暮れていた。やがて漂は王宮へと召し上げられるが、王の弟・成キョウ(本郷奏多)が仕掛けたクーデターによる戦いで致命傷を負う。息を引き取る寸前の漂から渡された地図を頼りにある小屋へと向かった信は、そこで王座を追われた漂とうり二つの王・エイ政(吉沢亮)と対面。漂が彼の身代わりとなって殺されたのを知った信は、その後エイ政と共に王座を奪還するために戦うことになる。

現場に不可解な数字の羅列が残される殺人事件が3件発生する。警視庁捜査一課の刑事・新田浩介(木村拓哉)は、数字が次の犯行場所を予告していることを突き止め、ホテル・コルテシア東京で4件目の殺人が起きると断定する。だが、犯人の手掛かりが一向につかめないことから、新田が同ホテルの従業員を装って潜入捜査を行う。優秀なフロントクラークの山岸尚美(長澤まさみ)の指導を受けながら、宿泊客の素性を暴こうとする新田。利用客の安全を第一に考える山岸は、新田に不満を募らせ......。

福岡県南部の強豪八女北高校野球部では、常に熾烈なポジション争いが繰り広げられていた。春の選抜大会（甲子園）につながる予選で、まさかの敗退によりチームはギクシャクし始めていた。そんな折、エースら中心選手は、監督から演劇部に行くよう命令される。反発する選手達。だが、そこには思いもよらぬ先輩たちの哀しい傷跡の記憶が･･･。

Inspector Totsugawa of the First Investigation Division goes to Tsuruoka in Yamagata to attend the wedding of the son of Inspector Mukai, his former colleague who now works for the Yamagata Prefectural Police. While sightseeing at Mt. Haguro after the ceremony, he notices a young woman drawing him in her sketchbook. She introduces herself as Yuka Shiraishi and says she came to draw the Dewa Sanzan. Signing the drawing of Totsugawa next to the five-story pagoda with her initial, a 'Y' in the corner, she gives it to him as a present. The next morning, the corpse of a young woman who has been stabbed is discovered in a forest in Tsuruoka. When Totsugawa, on his way back, hears that a sketchbook signed with a 'Y' was found at the scene, he follows Mukai there. However, the body is not Yuka, the woman Totsugawa had met, and while no items pointing to her identity are found, the sketchbook is the same one Yuka had the day before.

Detective Kamei of the First Investigation Division receives a request from lawyer Shinichi Nakamura, the son of his deceased close friend, to re-investigate a car accident. Akiko, the wife of Yasuo Furuki, a painter from Hakone, died in the accident 5 months earlier by crashing into a guardrail. Nakamura's client, Akiko's younger sister Yuki Izeki, suspects that she was actually murdered by Furuki for insurance money. Overwhelmed by these thoughts, Yuki had sent an email reading "I'll never forgive that man. I'm going to kill him and avenge my big sister," announcing a murder to Nakamura. In the middle of their conversation, Nakamura receives a call from Hakone PD confirming that Yuki had turned herself in that morning...

Fukaya Sakurako is married to the owner of ‘Fukaya’, a long-established miso shop in Nagoya City. She lives comfortably with her husband Kazuhisa and their daughter Yuko, a university student. Sakurako is content with Kazuhisa, a family man whose redeeming feature is his kindness. Her worry is Yuko who pays no attention to school work because she has been chasing after Shugo, a popular singer-songwriter in Nagoya. One day, Sakurako sees Shugo’s post on social media and an exchange with a young man who is not even her own child begins over smartphone. This is in contrast to her ordinary daily routine and all very exciting for Sakurako. She naturally does not tell her daughter about it. Having aspired to become a songwriter when she was young, Sakurako starts to give Shugo advice on the lyrics for his new song. Then one day, Shugo proposes that they work together in Tokyo but ... is this love? Will Sakurako choose her family or him?

One day, Hikojiro goes to visit Sayo Kujo, an old lady who has been hospitalized. Sayo has been told that she has a year to live by assistant professor Natsuhiko Moriwaki, and insists on returning to the house she was born and raised in. It so happens that Hikojiro will be the one to treat her at home from now on. At the university hospital, Hikojiro runs into a familiar face - Hazuki, the daughter of Tetsuji Tonoyama, the man who taught Hikojiro how to make takoyaki. Hazuki is now a nurse at the university hospital and Hikojiro is surprised to see a strange poster on the hospital bulletin board that implies she's having an affair with Moriwaki. The hospital is currently preparing to elect a new chief surgeon, and the candidates are assistant professors Moriwaki and Shinsuke Noguchi, heads of the first and second surgical department. Both of their factions have been publishing defamatory statements about each other.

The strangled dead body of Hiroshi Hatano, accounting section chief at the longstanding apparel company Edaka International, is discovered in his apartment in Tokyo. At the scene, Inspector Totsugawa and Detective Kamei find out that a mysterious email stating "I'll be riding the Super Ozora 5 tomorrow" was sent to the victim's cell phone the night before. The sender, Manami Furuya, an employee of Edaka International's Planning Section, has strangely terminated her cell phone service and hasn't shown up to work that very morning. Immediately afterwards, Totsugawa is astonished to receive a report from the Hokkaido police stating that the body of a man, stabbed to death, has been found on the Super Ozora 5 limited express. The man is Yuuki Nakamura, a bar employee from Tokyo, who seems to have flown from Haneda Airport to Sapporo and then boarded the Super Ozora 5, which connects Sapporo and Kushiro. Totsugawa has the feeling that this can't be a coincidence...

The body of a professor is discovered at a university lecture hall suspended from the ceiling of the stage, with a series of mysterious numbers written on the curtains nearby. Professor Eiko, a law professor at the university well versed in criminology, is asked to assist police in the investigation, and he uncovers clues that point to him as a suspect. Why is he being set up? As he and his assistant work to decipher the code left on the curtains, another professor at the university is murdered. And yet another mysterious code is left at the scene of the crime.

One day, Hikojiro receives an emergency call from inn proprietress Shino Ogawa to examine Tadahiko Mori, a guest complaining of stomach pain. Mori, who owns an art gallery in Tokyo, has come to Kyoto on a trip with his only daughter, high school student Nanami. Hikojiro gives him his business card, telling him to contact him if the pain comes back. However, the next day, Mori is found dead...!

A young woman is discovered strangled to death at the boat pier in Tokyo. There are no signs of disturbed clothing and assault, and because the body was abandoned at a prominent spot, it shows that this was a premeditated crime by a criminal with the presence of mind. Joto Chuo Police Precinct’s detective Kunihiko Katsuragi rushed to the scene, and the fact that the body is barefoot weighs on his mind. The next morning he finds out the commander assigned this case is his son Toshifumi.

Goro is an archeologist, fascinated with the national treasure Gassho clay figure and remains from the Jomon period. He meets a woman, Momoko who is timid with love. Momoko often has memories from ancient times and landscapes of the heart in her dreams. She tells Goro about her dream and their relationship deepens.

榎本径(大野智)が姿を消してから半年。芹沢(佐藤浩市)と青砥純子(戸田恵梨香)は、いつものように通常の弁護士業務をこなしていた。そんな折、芹沢が相談依頼を受けていた証券会社会長の藤林(黒部進)が撲殺されると言う事件が発生。しかも、その死体を発見したのは藤林の姪・郁子(黒木瞳)と芹沢だった。 刑事の鴻野(宇梶剛士)から藤林との関係を聞かれた芹沢は、藤林の亡くなった妻の１０億円相当の絵画コレクションを美術館に寄贈する話を仲介していた、と明かす。およそ１か月後、芹沢の弁護士事務所に朝妻(ト宇たかお)がマンションの管理人の小檜山(岡田義徳)に付き添われてやってくる。応対した純子に朝妻は、心臓発作で倒れたときに自分を助けてくれた命の恩人を探してほし い、と訴える。なんでも、朝妻を助けてくれた人物は、応急処置を施し、119番通報をしたまま姿を消したと言う。同じ頃、芹沢は郁子に会っていた。藤林を殺害した犯人は捕まっていないのだが、寄贈の話を勧めたいという芹沢に、郁子は寄贈は中止してほしいという。事件の前日に、藤林自身が寄贈は中止したいと話していたと郁子は証言するのだ。 別の日、淳子は朝妻のマンションの住民に聞き込みをしていた。と、そんな目の前に小檜山に連れられた男がやってくる。なんと、それは純子と芹沢の前から忽然と消えてしまった榎本だった。純子は突然の再会に戸惑いながらも、新しい防犯カメラを設置するために呼ばれたと言う榎本を朝妻の部屋へ連れていく。 その後、芹沢は郁子を寄贈先の美術館館長の平松(佐野史郎)と面会させる。寄贈中止という言葉を聞いた途端、平松の表情が鋭くなる。そのころ、館内にいた榎本と純子は、企画展のために作品を制作中だと言う有名アーティストの稲葉透(藤木直人)に会う。稲葉が作成した遊園地のミラーハウスを模した迷路とそこにはめ込まれた巨大なオブジェ。その前に立った榎本は…。

東京の公園を訪れては家族写真を撮り続けている大学生の光司(三浦春馬)は、幼い頃に亡くした母親の影響でカメラマンを目指していた。ある日、一人の男性から「いつも娘を連れてあちこちの公園を散歩している彼女を尾行して、写真を撮って欲しい」という突然の依頼が舞い込む。依頼主である歯科医の初島(高橋洋)の態度に光司は迷いを感じながらも、なかば強制されるように依頼を受ける。光司の家には、親友で同居人のヒロ(染谷将太)がおり、彼にだけはこの依頼内容の話をしようとするが、どこか気がとがめて全てを話す気にはなれない。ヒロは、光司の幼なじみの富永(榮倉奈々)の元カレだった。富永は元気な笑顔が魅力の溌溂とした性格で、ヒロと別れてからも光司のバイト先、ゲイのマスター(宇梶剛士)が営むカフェバーを訪れ、食べ物やDVDを持参しては家に出入りしている。マスターはゲイを承知でプロポーズしてきた女性と結婚をしたが、その妻を病気で亡くしていた。カフェバーには光司の義理の姉・美咲(小西真奈美)も足しげく通ってくる。富永は、親の再婚で兄弟になった光司と美咲を楽しそうに眺めながら、今日も酒を片手に大好きなゾンビ映画のことを語るのだった。「潮風公園、よろしく」という初島からのメールが届き、光司は重い腰をあげて公園へと出かける。そこには、百合香(井川遥)がいた。彼女が娘と一緒に東京の様々な公園を散歩する写真を撮るうち、光司は次第に記憶の中の大切な人の面影と百合香を重ね合わせるようになっていく。そんな中、母が倒れたという報せを受け、光司と美咲は両親が住む大島へと向かう。その夜、美咲と光司は二人きりで話をする。百合香のことを語り始めた光司だったが、逆に美咲に富永のことを問われ、光司は戸惑う。やがて、富永の心の中にある深い悲しみ、美咲が心の中にしまってきた切実な愛情、言葉を交わしたこともない百合香の眼差しに触れながら、光司の心は次第に変わり始めていく……。

世界の名峰を制覇した後、日本へ戻り山岳救助ボランティアとして活動していた島崎三歩のもとに、椎名久美が北部警察署山岳遭難救助隊の新人としてやって来る。三歩の指導を受けて訓練をこなしていた久美だが、実際の現場で遭難者を救うことが出来ずに自信を失っていた。そんなある日、猛吹雪の雪山で多重遭難が発生する。久美は仲間と共に現場へ向かうが、そこには想像を絶する雪山の脅威が待ち受けていた。

高級住宅地にある大豪邸・堂島家。主人である堂島建設社長・新之助（団時朗）の65歳の誕生日を祝うため、親族が集まっていた。集まったのは、堂島家の長女・桐生苑子（奥貫薫）、苑子の夫で堂島建設社長秘書の直明（宇梶剛士）、堂島家次女・堂島貴和子（国分佐智子）、堂島家三女・堂島あかり（仲間由紀恵）、堂島家長男・堂島大輔（田中幸太朗）、大輔の婚約者・水谷香苗（上原美佐）、そして堂島家と家族ぐるみの付き合いのある加納拓真（山本耕史）、さらに家政婦の野村清美（西尾まり）と堂島邸でのパーティーでは毎回腕をふるう元コック・宮本茂（火野正平）がいた。 しかし、パーティー直前に新之助は、書斎の窓から飛び降りて死亡してしまう。津由木（小日向文世）や田神（伊阪達也）ら田園調布東署の刑事が捜査にあたり、親族や堂島邸のすぐそばに住む新之助付きの運転手・松浦（きたろう）などにも話を聞いた結果、新之助の死は自殺としていったん処理された。 そして初七日の法要に再び集まる親族一同。悲しみにくれる堂島家だったが、そこでも宮本、貴和子、松浦と、3人もが次々に謎の死を遂げ、連続殺人事件へと発展する。謎に包まれた事件の真相を究明するべく、刑事たちが本格的な捜査を開始。結果、意外な真犯人と悲しい真実が浮かび上がる・・・！！

長引く不況に対し、幕府では、若き勘定吟味役・風間右京乃助（小澤征悦）が敏腕をふるっていた。筆頭老中・沢木丹波守輔忠（津川雅彦）を後ろ盾に、江戸城の改築や橋の付け替えなどの取り止めを次々と決定し、幕府の財政を立て直そうというのだ。だが、この“事業仕分け”に、普請奉行の酒巻勘解由（本田博太郎）は反感を隠せない。贅沢三昧の暮らしを送る大奥のお年寄り・霧島（かたせ梨乃）にいたっては、小判を作って財政を立て直せなどという無茶な注文を言い出す始末だ。一方、町では、庶民たちが仕事を求めて口入屋に殺到する事態が起こっていた。仕事にありつけない人々は、自分たちの働き口を奪ったとして、右京乃助に恨みを募らせる。経師屋の涼次（松岡昌宏）も、右京乃助のせいで家族を失ったという少女から“仕事”を依頼された。ひそかに右京乃助の身辺を洗い始めた涼次は、異様な殺気を放つ坊主・童山（内藤剛志）に出会う。童山は右京乃助と関わりがあるようだが……。同じ頃、武士が殺されるという事件が相次いでいた。死体を見るかぎり、犯人はかなりの腕利きのようだ。南町奉行所見廻り同心・渡辺小五郎（東山紀之）は、しぶしぶ捜査に乗り出す。ところが、そんな小五郎に、こう（野際陽子）から驚きの知らせが。妻のふく（中越典子）が妊娠したというのだ！　仕事人という裏の顔を持つ自分が親になるという事実に小五郎は？そんな中、“仕事”を何者かに目撃されてしまい、対処に困った仕立て屋の匳（田中聖）は、中村主水（藤田まこと）に相談すべく、中村家を訪れる。そこには、偶然居合わせた小五郎と花御殿のお菊（和久井映見）の姿があったが、主水の姿は……。

南町奉行所見廻り同心・渡辺小五郎（東山紀之）、絵師でもある経師屋の涼次（松岡昌宏）、役儀任免で南町奉行所自身番となった中村主水（藤田まこと）らは、表稼業をこなしながらも、仕事人として闇にまぎれて悪人たちを討つ日々を送っていた。ただ一人、からくり屋の源太（大倉忠義）だけは、仕事人として人を殺めたことを後悔して葛藤しながら、作太郎（前田航基）とともにめし処「その」を営んでいた。江戸の街では、なぜか薬の値が高騰する事態が起こる。主水が自身番を勤める長屋横丁でも、与平（前田吟）ら貧しい老人たちが薬の高騰にあえいでいた。そこに、薬を安売りする薬種問屋恵比寿屋が現れる。店の主・恵比寿屋善兵衛（竜雷太）は救世主としてあがめられるが、その裏で善兵衛は、舶来モノの安い薬が江戸に入るのを差し止めていたのだった。そんな中、素浪人・権藤伊左衛門（沢村一樹）が江戸にやってくる。彼は小五郎の剣術道場時代の同士で、自慢の剣の腕で世直しをして名を上げようともくろんでいた。のんきに奉行所勤めをしている小五郎の前で、悪人を闇から闇へと葬る仕事人をクズ呼ばわりする伊左衛門。その矢先、薬の高騰に耐えかねた与平たちは、お上に対して長屋に立てこもり、窮状を訴える決意をした。めし処「その」に集まった老人たちの話を小耳にはさんだ伊左衛門は、助太刀を申し出る。人助けと考えた玉櫛（水川あさみ）も加わった。だが、立てこもりを始めた与平や伊左衛門たちのところへ乗り込んできたのは、老人たちを一掃し、長屋の土地を手に入れようともくろむ土建屋の芳之助（田中要次）と、彼が雇った銀五郎（丹古母鬼馬二）ら辰野組のヤクザ者たちだった。

翌年に大阪万博開催を控え、人類が初めて月に降り立った1969年の夏、小学生のケンヂは、同級生の仲間たちと空き地の原っぱに秘密基地を作った。そんな彼らの秘密の遊びの一つである“よげんの書”には、悪の組織、世界征服、人類滅亡計画、それを阻止する正義の味方など空想の数々が描かれ、彼らをワクワクさせるのだった。

Kanzo Hattori, an apprentice Ninja, leaves his home town of Iga for his final training. Meanwhile, people are being found unconscious, their bodies completely unmarked. All the victims have a tattoo (the Koga Ninja crest) and are found with a throwing knife lying close by.

『金田一耕助ファイル 迷路荘の惨劇』は、テレビ東京系列・BSジャパン共同制作の2時間ドラマ「女と愛とミステリー」（毎週水曜日20:54 - 22:48）で2002年10月2日に放送された。 名琅荘（めいろうそう）は、明治時代の権臣古舘種人（ふるたてたねんど）伯爵が建てた別荘であったが、屋敷内のあちこちに“どんでん返し”や“抜け穴”などが仕掛けられていることから、地元の人々からは、別名「迷路荘」と呼ばれていた。 昭和25年10月。金田一耕助は、現在はホテルとなっている名琅荘に主人・篠崎慎吾から依頼を受けて訪れるが、その直後に殺人事件が発生する。

Three apparently unrelated suicides occur on the same day in Tokyo. One involves a young athlete, one a groom at his wedding reception, and the third an elderly man celebrating his wife's birthday.
