Mina and Mizuki sisters attended a ballet class in Tokyo. One day, the sisters return home separately, but younger sister, Mizuki, is kidnapped on the way home and discovered as a corpse. On that day, Mina blames herself for returning home, leaving her sister to practice ballet staying. Her mother, Teruko, is also very upset by the news of the discovery of her body, causing deep emotional wounds. 戦前の昭和、岡山の寒村に祖母と二人で暮らす青年・犬丸継男（いぬまるつぎお）は、村一番の秀才として名高い。ある日、村の風習である夜這いを知り、彼もこれに溺れるようになる。 徴兵検査を受けた継男は、当時の医学では不治の伝染病として忌み嫌われていた結核と診断され、「名誉の出兵」が叶わなくなる。このことが村人達に知れ渡り、女たちも彼を役立たずと馬鹿にするようになる。 村八分のような状況となった彼から恋人のやすよも離れ、次第に追い詰められた彼は村人達に対して、復讐を決行する。

シンガーソングライターでマルチクリエイターのイルカ。その彼女が描いた絵本を原作とする短編劇場アニメ。天涯孤独の児童ジェレミーは、今年もひとりぼっちのクリスマスを迎える。だが雪の中、凍えて倒れていた小鳥を助けたジェレミーは、その小鳥から「友達のもみの木」を捜すよう頼まれた。もみの木は、すでにクリスマスツリーとして、大きなお屋敷の中に飾られている。ジェレミーは、せめてそのツリーの枝のひと振りでも森に返そうと思い、夜間に屋敷に忍び込む。だが見つかって、銃で撃たれてしまい……。原作はイルカが、自分の息子・冬馬くんの誕生を契機に執筆した連作絵本「小さな空」の第四弾。アニメ製作はグループ・タックで、原作の絵本の水彩イメージの色調を見事にアニメ映像の中に再現している。音楽はイルカ自身が担当し、イルカ原作の長編アニメ『ノエルの不思議な冒険』と同時上映された。
