ノルウェーの田舎町で問題になっている熊の密猟事件を取材しにやってきた大学生3人組。彼らが怪しい男・ハンス（オットー・イェスパーセン）を尾行していたとき、何と伝説の生き物トロールが出現。ハンスは政府に雇われていたトロール・ハンターだったのだ。3人はハンスと一緒に行動し、トロールの衝撃的な生態をカメラに収める。
