不毛の惑星に不時着した宇宙船アローヘッド号。機密情報を盗み出すため船に潜入していた反乱軍スパイのカイは、シャトルに乗り込み命こそ助かったものの、救助も期待できず途方に暮れる。ほどなく彼は同じく生存者である生物学者の女性タレンと合流、母船を目指すが、他の生存者たちは彼らに気付かず飛び去ってしまった。絶望的な状況の中、カイは惑星の奇妙な生命体に取り込まれてしまうが、それが彼の体に異変をもたらし…。
