2013年にアカデミー賞を受賞したディズニー・アニメーション映画「アナと雪の女王」と、2019年に公開され、高い評価を得た「アナと雪の女王２」で人気者になった、夏を愛する無邪気で洞察力に富んだ雪だるま、オラフの生い立ちが、ウォルト・ディズニー・アニメーション・スタジオの新作短編アニメーション「オラフの生まれた日」で明らかになる。本作は、アレンデール郊外の山の中で、命を宿したオラフが、自分が何者でなぜ生きているのかを知ろうとする姿を追う。監督は、「アナと雪の女王２」でオラフのアニメーション・スーパーバイザーを務めたトレント・コリーと、「アナと雪の女王２」でオラフの楽曲「おとなになったら」を担当したベテランのストーリー・アーティスト、ダン・アブラハムが務める。
