Angélica and José Luis have been married for thirty years and they have always lived at the same house; first with their son, Daniel, and now, by themselves. Their daily routine is threatened when José Luis loses a leg in a car accident. When they try to restructure their life, they realize their relation was already fractured and opt for silence. However, they begin a passionate search for all they have lost. Together they travel through a country absorbed in civil war in search of Gapo’s older and only brother: a famed revolutionary outlaw.

Minutes before his death in the general ward of a city hospital, Ulises, a terminal patient in his fifties, reconstructs the fragments of his life. Lauro, a young and smiling nearby patient accompanies him on his final agony, reliving all Ulises' missed opportunities.

Gabriel is a filmmaker in Mexico City, where he is a victim of crime and violence sometimes even three times a day. This is a black comedy that shows the extreme situation Mexico City is suffering as far as crime is concerned, and the tension the city and it's inhabitants live day after day.

Heated tempers, frustrated desires and dashed hopes plague a diverse group of individuals whose lives cross paths in Mexico City. There is the bar-owner's son, Chava, who yearns to emigrate to America. A poor barber, Abel, is madly in love with the gorgeous Alma, who eventually becomes a high-class prostitute. Finally, there is Susanita, the desperate spinster who pursues many love affairs in hopes of finding a husband.
