Vikram Mayur is looking after his late brother's eight-year-old son and is torn between choosing to take Nandu back to England to learn his family's business, or risk throwing it all way.
Story
Inspector Shiv Nath is a honest and diligent police officer in Bombay, and lives with his wife, Radha, and a young son, Arjun. While making several arrests in connection with counterfeit money and drugs, he comes to know that his close friend, Karamchand is also involved in this racket. Before he could take any action, he himself is arrested by the police for possession of fake money and drugs, and sentenced to a jail term, but he escapes and his whereabouts are unknown. Radha loses her mind and is institutionalized, while Arjun takes to petty crime and on reaching adult-hood is the Don of the area known and feared as "Dus Numbri".

So when he assures Seth Dhanraj that he will deliver his missing daughter, Sheetal, to him even if he has to sacrifice his life, one can do nothing but believe in him. Raja Thakur does find Sheetal, only now she is known as Janniya, a dancing courtesan. He also finds out the people responsible for her plight, and decides to teach them a lesson. Before he could do so, Sheetal is kidnapped by a city gangster and held for ransom. Now Raja Thakur will have to leave the rural area, where he rules, and go into an unknown territory, to deal with unknown gangsters, and he must do so in order to keep his word.

A prosperous, well-respected lawyer, in love with and engaged to an educated, socially-conscious young woman, rapes a poor local village milkmaid. The rest of the story deals with the aftermath of this tragic event, with all the inevitable undercurrents of guilt, penitence and pervasive heartbreak that stem from it.
