小さな駅のホームに降り立つエストニアの青年。彼は将来を嘱望されたフェンシング選手だったが、あることからロシアの秘密警察に追われる身となり、故国の田舎町へ逃れて小学校の体育教師となったのだった。生徒たちとの交流を通じて情熱を取り戻していく青年の物語が美しい映像とともに綴られるが、やがて隠していた過去との対峙を迫られる時が来る・・・。
