Patalliro du Malyner VIII is the crown prince of Malynera, a kingdom that produces diamonds. Despite being ugly and mischievous, he is loyal and fair. Many enemies of the throne, including Malynera's Prime Minister, plan to get rid of him and take control of the rich nation. Patalliro, however, has the protection of Jack Barbarosa Bancoran, his haughty and extremely handsome bodyguard, who will protect him even from the latter's own lover, the beautiful bishonen hitman Maraich Juschenfe and other assassins.
The mayor is found dead in the river in a small town known for its hot springs. It's assumed that he fell to his death, but his nephew just cannot understand why his uncle would have gone there by himself to begin with. When he cleans up his house, he finds his uncle's diary and tries to find out what exactly happened.

『金田一耕助ファイル 迷路荘の惨劇』は、テレビ東京系列・BSジャパン共同制作の2時間ドラマ「女と愛とミステリー」（毎週水曜日20:54 - 22:48）で2002年10月2日に放送された。 名琅荘（めいろうそう）は、明治時代の権臣古舘種人（ふるたてたねんど）伯爵が建てた別荘であったが、屋敷内のあちこちに“どんでん返し”や“抜け穴”などが仕掛けられていることから、地元の人々からは、別名「迷路荘」と呼ばれていた。 昭和25年10月。金田一耕助は、現在はホテルとなっている名琅荘に主人・篠崎慎吾から依頼を受けて訪れるが、その直後に殺人事件が発生する。

怪鳥ギャオスが世界各地に出現し、人類に深刻な被害をもたらす。そんな中、東京・渋谷にギャオスが飛来し、それを追ってガメラも現われ、両者の戦いで渋谷の街は壊滅する。一方、かつてのガメラとギャオスの闘いで両親を失い、現在も激しくガメラを憎む少女・綾奈は、奈良の禁域の森のほこらで、奇妙な卵を発見。やがて卵からは不思議な生物が誕生し、綾奈はそれを“イリス”と名付けてひそかに育てるが、イリスは急速に成長する。
