Tetsurô Abe

Heizo "The Demon" deals with an arson thief gang known as "Bungoro" the fire thief who leaves a calling card as evidence. As a street notice, showing the thief of Ohno shop, but it is not Bungoro, it's the quick work of a solo member. Heizo Hasegawa with his hands full may have caught a break, it may be a falling out among the thieves.

梅安が音羽の元締から依頼された仕掛けの相手は、大阪の大元締・白子屋菊右衛門だった。以前、藤枝梅安は白子屋の世話になっていたが、剣客・小杉十五郎の件で対立する間柄に変わっていた。愛人をかどわかされ、江戸まで乗り込んでくる白子屋。命を付け狙われた梅安は、対決する覚悟を決め、白子屋に捨て身で立ち向かっていく…。

Death stalks a towering hotel under construction in Tokyo and love brings the guilty parties to a justice of their own choice. The motives are control of the hotel, blackmail and jealousy. The principals involved are two business partners, a political string puller and his son, lovers carrying on an illicit affair and a secretary turned blackmailer.

漆器問屋の小津屋一家が惨殺される事件が発生。裏で操っていたのは、小津屋の後妻お千代で、何を隠そう、彼女は江戸を騒がす盗賊集団の首領だった。お千代の育ての親である小兵衛は、彼女を悪の道から立ち直らせようと、彼女の子分たちの始末を仕掛人に依頼する。かくして梅安の出番となるが、実はお千代は、彼の昔の恋人だった。梅安から捨てられたばかりに悪の道へ転落したことを彼女に告げられ、梅安の心にも迷いが生じる。

裏稼業で闇の仕掛人を営むはり医者の梅安は、元締めである音羽屋の依頼で、ろうそく問屋・辻屋の後妻、お照を暗殺する。お照は実は盗っ人で、悪辣な孫八と手を組み、辻屋の後添いの座にまんまと納まると、その身代を乗っ取ろうとひそかにたくらんでいた。一方、梅安と同じ仕掛人である左内は、剣の腕前を買われ、八丁堀の同心・峯山又十郎から手を組まないかと勧められていた。
