Jim Chuchu

A young African visual artist has a sly plan to break through into the global arts market (Jim Chuchu). The work that was commissioned by the Performa Festival in New York stars Kenyan singer, songwriter, actress, radio and reality television personality Patricia Kihoro.

Created by the members of a Nairobi-based arts collective — who have removed their names from the film for fear of reprisal — this anthology film that dramatizes true-life stories from Kenya’s oppressed LGBTQ community is both a labour of love and a bold act of militancy.
