投げやりに就職先を決めて、自転車による一人旅に出た大学生（森山未來）。だが、その途中で事故を起こしてしまい、旧道沿いにあるドライブインHOUSE475に立ち寄る。寡黙ながらも真理を突いたことを話す店主のセイジ（西島秀俊）と、店に集うユニークな客たちに魅了され、彼は住み込みで働くように。これまでに得たことのない充足を店での生活に感じ、よりセイジのことを知ろうとその周辺を探っていたある日、思いもよらぬ事件が起きてしまう。

First Lieutenant Shun'ichi Maki of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force is a prestigious F-15 Eagle jet pilot (or "driver" as he is called in the film). A lifelong fan of flying since he was a child, being a pilot is his ultimate dream. Unfortunately, his duties distance himself from his wife, Yoko, who always ends up being neglected, and his son, Tsugumu, who has a congenital blood disease and has a high risk of dying at a young age.Maki decides to quit the Air Force to devote more time to his family and to spend whatever is left for his son. He takes a part-time job as a commercial tour guide run by a kindly group of people who allow him time to work and to also take care of his family.

CMディレクター樽見の初監督作品は、連合赤軍による同志リンチ事件を描いた小説『光の雨』の映画化だった。そのメイキング撮影を依頼された若手映画監督・阿南は快諾し、オーディションからカメラを回し始める。若手俳優たちは阿南のカメラに向かって、30年前に実在した、自分たちと同世代の革命闘志の心情がうまく掴めないことを語る。キャストが決定し、撮影はいよいよ本格的にスタート。吹雪吹き荒れる極寒の地・知床での合宿ロケが始まった。だが“総括”シーンの撮影が続く中、樽見監督が現場から突然姿を消してしまう……。

Yuichi Kosaka is a salaried businessman in Ueda city. His achievements have not been improved recently, and he is betrayed by the manager of takada. Takada, who is related to the company's executives, is very strict with him. Every night late, Yuichi is often dissatisfied with his wife, Kazue, and his daughter Sanae.On the other day Yuichi ran the car aiming at his home village. However, it is lost in the mountain road which should know well. An old public telephone keeps in sight, and yuichiro stops the car before it. It was Yuichi who had been able to find the name of the old high school classmate, Tai in the old telephone book, and dial, and was surprised to hear the voice of the big. It was because the voice was as it was 30 years ago. The telephone was connected to the past.

大学時代に知り合い、結婚した子どものいない夫婦、三津子と忠春。ひたすら仕事に打ち込む忠春とそれを家庭でけなげに支える三津子。せつないまでに夫を愛するもののすれ違いを感じ始めた彼女の想いは毎夜日記に綴られていった。そんなある日、三津子は高校時代の友人・久美と12年ぶりに再会する。彼女と夫・俊彦との気ままな生活は、三津子たちとはあまりにも対照的だった…。

Takanosuke Ushio and Tae Horikawa are unable to forget each other, even though they met and fell in love 20 years ago. They had promised each other that they would build a retreat in Shiguretei, but Ushio was hospitalized after a stroke a few days later, and when his wife, Takako, rushed to the hospital, she discovered their love affair, which in reality had not gone beyond kissing. Now, 20 years later, against the advice of her ikebana mentor, Tae rushes to meet Ushio at Shiguretei, only to see him clutching his chest in pain. Eventually, the design and plans for the dream retreat are seen by Tae, but she has to visit Kyoto alone... or maybe she's heading for somewhere else.
