Marcella is the sick young daughter of a toy maker. One night, her toys come alive to take her on an adventure to meet the Doll Doctor, in hopes that he will mend her broken heart. After decades of being lost media, the cult classic musical has finally been brought back to life thanks to the efforts of R.A.R.E. (Raggedy Ann Revival Effort). The film is edited together by using footage from the New York State Archives, surviving bootlegs of the show, and demo recordings.

After working hard, Grover has finally gotten a job as a waiter at the hot restaurant in town, Planet Storybook. Now, he can help kids learn about healthy eating while he serves up some of the biggest names in nursery rhymes (such as Miss Muffet). Thane Furrows, an extremely cynical but unintentionally hilarious children's book writer, wakes up one morning, and, since pretty much everyone and everything annoys him, begins another day of complaining to himself. However, the day proves to be much different than normal when Thane begins to recieve strange phone calls, letters, and voices in his head, all indicating that something will happen at 8 o'clock. As the day goes on, Thane rants and raves about the things that annoy him, as the clock slowly ticks closer and closer to his destiny

The story focuses on a family of anthropomorphic rabbits, the widowed mother rabbit cautioning her young against entering a vegetable garden grown by a man named Mr. McGregor, telling them: "your Father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs. McGregor". Whereas her three daughters obediently refrain from entering the garden, going down the lane to pick blackberries, her rebellious son Peter enters the garden to snack on some vegetables. Peter ends up eating more than is good for him and goes looking for parsley to cure his stomach ache.
