Three stories from Shiratsuna Island: "Mikan no hana" Shiratsuna Island is the only remaining island city in Japan, but it is being merged with a city on the opposite shore. Housewife Misato Tomita lives on the island. "Umi no hoshi" Yōhei Hamasaki, who was born on Shiratsuna Island, lives in an apartment in the outskirts of Tokyo with his wife, Tomomi, and their son, Taichi. "Kumo no ito" Popular artist Hirotaka Kurosaki, who is a native of Shiratsuna Island, goes back to his hometown after seven years.

Sister Game is a brother-sister romantic comedy that follows the daily life of Gorō Hōzuki, a high school boy with an older sister named Haru who is unrelated by blood. Gorō is mortified when the self-centered and lustful Haru plays pranks on him.

Dan (Mitsu Dan) is a former geisha, now working as an ace pilot for the Earth Defense Troops. Her fiance was killed by the space monster Bemurasu which consumes nuclear waste. To save Planet Earth, Dan attacks Bemurasu, but whenever she does, she feels ecstasy. Can she save Planet Earth?

飲料メーカーから新商品発売キャンペーンのCM制作の注文を受け、広告代理店が提出した案は3人のタレントを起用するものだった。性根の曲がった演歌の女王（黒木瞳）、かつては一世を風靡（ふうび）した時代劇の大物俳優（中村嘉葎雄）、そしてそううつ病を患うヒップホップスター（加藤和樹）。だが、演歌歌手と時代劇俳優の不仲は業界内でも有名だった。

ヨシオ（ぼく）と不思議な「いけちゃん」は物心ついた頃から一緒にいる。いけちゃんの正体は分からないが、いつも傍にいて見守ってくれる。いけちゃんはうれしいことがあると数が増え、困ると小さくなり、ぼくが女の子と仲良くすると真っ赤になって怒り出す。そんないけちゃんが大好きだったが18歳になり初めての恋をしてから、いけちゃんの姿が見えなくなってしまった。

平凡なサラリーマンの卓（三宅裕司）の楽しみは、毎晩家族4人全員で食卓を囲むこと。ある日、彼が駅前で吉田拓郎の曲を演奏するバンドに合わせて歌を熱唱していたとき、充（金井勇太）という青年と知り合う。卓は一人暮らしだという充を夕食に招き、妻の幸子（真野響子）と長女の詩織（藤澤恵麻）、次女の歌織（AYAKO）に紹介する。

Chibi Maruko-chan (Japanese: ちびまる子ちゃん?) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Momoko Sakura. The series depicts the simple, everyday life of Momoko Sakura in the times of when she was a little girl where everyone call her Maruko and her family in suburban Japan in the year 1974. The series is set in the former city of Shimizu, now part of Shizuoka City, birthplace of its author.

Tsukiko is in her late 30s and living alone when one night she happens to meet one of her former high school teachers, 'Sensei', in a bar. He is at least thirty years her senior, retired and, she presumes, a widower. After this initial encounter, the pair continue to meet occasionally to share food and drink sake, and as the seasons pass - from spring cherry blossom to autumnal mushrooms - Tsukiko and Sensei come to develop a hesitant intimacy which tilts awkwardly and poignantly into love.

Kubozuka plays Araki Ryunosuke who starts working at a host club called "club NO.1" to pay his debt.
