チェコで、核爆弾の仲介人マイケル・ターナーに成り済ましておとり捜査をしていたＣＩＡの諜報員のケヴィン・ポープが殺された。CIAは、取引きの期限があと９日と迫っていたため、ケヴィンの双子の兄弟であるジェイクをマイケルと偽ることを思いつく。そして、諜報員のゲイロード・オークスが、彼に諜報員のノウハウを教えることになった。
