カスタマー・サービスの分野でモティベーション・スピーカーとして名声を築き、本も出版しているマイケル・ストーン。しかしながら彼自身は人生に何の刺激も感じられずにいた。ある日、講演者として呼ばれてきたシンシナティ―で、彼の講演を聞きに来ていたリサという女性と出会う。長いこと、誰の声であっても全て同じ声に聞こえていたマイケルが、唯一聞こえた"別の声"の彼女と特別な一夜を過ごすのだが・・・。
