Struggling single mother, Melody Miller, has left her dream job as a music teacher to work in home health care in order to provide for her young daughter. When one of her clients falls ill, his family rush home, and to Melody’s surprise his son turns out to be none other than country music superstar, Johnny Colorado. マペットの少年ウォルターは、地方で人間の兄ゲイリーと暮らしている。大人になったゲイリーは恋人メアリーと旅行でLAに行くことになり、同行することになったウォルターは大ファンであるTV番組「マペット・ショー」のスタジオを見られると大興奮。しかしスタジオはもう使われていなくて荒れ果て、石油王の陰謀で解体の危機に直面していた。ウォルターたちはスタジオを守ろうと、引退したマペットのカーミットを訪ねる。
