The residents in heaven are worried because Santa does not know what to do. All of the children would like a sputnik that beeps for Christmas. Nobody in Santa's crew knows what a sputnik is. So he has to go to earth and find out about it.

Two hands prepare a paper cutting... They create a tailor made from black cardboard and let him go into a paper world. He comes alive and together with the scissors, which created him, he wanders around.

Karl, Katrinchen and Spatz are visiting their grandmother every christmas. The small village is covered up by snow and so the three kids build a snowman. When they look at it the next morning, his nose - a carrot - is gone. The kids give the snowman a new nose and stay up late that day to look out for the thief.
