テレビ番組「クイズ＄ミリオネア」に出演し、賞金を獲得したジャマールだったが、インドのスラム街で育った少年が正解を知るはずがないと不正を疑われ逮捕される。ジャマールになぜこれほどの知識があり、この番組に出演するに至ったのか。警察の尋問によって、真実が明らかになっていく。
