A Pakistani involved in a planned attack in New York City experiences a crisis of conscience.

フィラデルフィアで、131人もの乗員・乗客が死亡するという凄惨な列車事故が発生。だが、たった一人、奇跡の生存者がいた。その男デヴィッド(ブルース・ウィリス)は、マスコミや周囲の者たちの異様な視線に戸惑う。「なぜ、俺だけが?」誰よりも彼自身がその答えを求めていた。ある日、イライジャ(サミュエル・L・ジャクソン)と名乗る男が現れ、デヴィッドこそ不滅の肉体を持つ者≪アンブレイカブル≫であると告げる。その言葉をきっかけに、デヴィッドは自己の存在意義を問うようになる。そして、それは恐るべき真実への幕開けだった・・・。

高名な精神科医のマルコムは、かつて担当していた患者の凶弾に倒れてしまう。リハビリを果たした彼は、複雑な症状を抱えた少年･コールの治療に取り掛かる事に。コールは常人には無い特殊な“第6感”、死者を見る事ができる能力を持っていた｡コールを治療しながら、彼によって自らの心も癒されていくマルコム。そして彼には予想も付かない真実が待ち受けていた･･･｡
