To protect his fortune, billionaire Zhixiong Lin gives his daughter Lindan a crystal necklace with a hidden USB drive with all of his overseas banking info. After a criminal syndicate manufactures a car crash that kills Lindan and sees the USB go missing, the investigation is further complicated by the emergence of a woman identical to Lindan.

Lin was unknowingly casted as a body double for Nana (a diva under prolonged hospitalization) in order to dispel fears and to help revive Zhang Tiansheng's dying music company which signed Nana. Lin ran away after learning that she was only meant as a body double, only to be kidnapped by a garment factory owner (Wang Yitou) who mistook Lin for Nana. Wang's business was failing and he needed a famous singer to act as a spokesperson, by singing a song for his company in order to save his business. Hence, begins an intertwined story of mistaken identity, reconciliation with truth, hopes, trust, forgiveness and friendship.

Northern China, the present day. Jobless and penniless after being sacked by his boss, and deserted by his wife and young son, 42-year-old cook Erbao attempts suicide but is saved by a fairy, whose sole purpose is to make him happy. Erbao chooses to be a martial arts hero, a millionaire, a film star and a beautiful young woman but finds all of their lives have drawbacks. Finally, he asks to become an emperor in Ancient China.
