「男はつらいよ」シリーズ第37作。福岡県飯塚、かつて炭坑で賑わった町も閑散とし、寅さんが贔屓にしていた旅役者の一座が活躍していた劇場も廃れてしまっていた。今は亡き座長に線香をあげるために、一座の花形だった大空小百合こと美保（志穂美悦子）を訪ねる。やがて美保は寅さんを訪ねて上京するが、寅さんが不在で、ひょんなことから看板職人の健吾（長渕剛）と知り合う。その後無事、寅さんと再会した美保は、柴又のラーメン屋“上海軒”で働くようになり、健吾との交際も続けるが…

「男はつらいよ」シリーズ第33作。初夏の釧路で、根無し草の風子（中原理恵）に、かつての自分の姿を見た寅さんは、彼女を道連れに旅をする。根室で叔母の世話で理容室につとめることになり、落ち着いたかのように見えた風子だったが、旅回りのサーカス一座のオートバイ乗り・トニー（渡瀬恒彦）に惹かれてまた旅暮らしとなる。柴又に帰って来た寅さんに届いた報せは、風子が病床についているという話だった…

稲川圭子（小林麻美）は、婚約者の田村樹生（小林薫）のことで神経科医の会沢（高橋悦史）を訪ねた。樹生の三人の兄が次々と蒸発するという謎の事件が続き、そして今度は自分が蒸発してしまうのではないかという強迫観念にとらわれて樹生がノイローゼに陥ってしまったのだ。まるで神隠しにあうかのように忽然と人が消える。その事件を解く鍵として、会沢は樹生に夢の記述を勧める。夢という形で近い将来に起こることを予見する本能が人間にはあるのだという。樹生と圭子はやがて三人の蒸発には奇妙な関連があることに気付くのだが…。

「男はつらいよ」シリーズ第18作。長野県上田市の別所温泉で、馴染みの坂東鶴八郎一座に大盤振る舞いをして、警察ホテルのご厄介となった寅さん。あきれ顔のさくらの迎えに、猛反省をしてまともな人間になろうと決意したのも束の間、帰宅してすぐに、美しい柳生綾（京マチ子）に逢ってからは、おなじみのパターンとなる。不幸な半生を送って来た綾は、不治の病で余命幾ばくもない。そんな綾を寅さんは懸命に励ます。周囲の心配をよそに、さくらだけは寅さんの味方をするが・・・

ある日、国鉄蒲田操車場構内で扼殺死体が発見された。被害者の身許が分らず、捜査は難航した。が、事件を担当した今西、吉村の両刑事の執念の捜査がやがて、ひとりの著名な音楽家・和賀英良を浮かび上がらせる…。

In Part I we see the young would-be swordsman setting out to achieve greatness in war, achieving nothing because fighting on the losing side, & then beginning his long period of wandering & training, with the goal always in mind of his duel with Kojiro. Part II builds toward that great duel on Ganryu Island, with considerable focus on Musashi's planning & forethought as to how to gain an advantage.

「男はつらいよ」シリーズ第11作。 初夏の北海道網走に出向いていた寅次郎は、そこでドサ回りの三流歌手リリー松岡（松岡清子）と出会う。何かにつけて悪態をつく男勝りのリリーに寅次郎も最初のうちは手を焼いた。が、やがてそれが虚勢だと気づいた寅次郎は、自分の身の上とリリーの育った環境が良く似ていることから同情心を抱く。リリーも心に傷を負った寅次郎の話を聞くうちに、寅次郎を兄のように慕うようになった。しかし、寅次郎の同情心はやがて抑えがたいほどの恋心へと変化していくのであった。

「男はつらいよ」シリーズ第8作。「ハハキトク」の報を受け、備中高梁へと向かった博とさくらは、葬儀にやってきた旅先の寅さんとバッタリ再会。博と父・飃一郎の関係はギクシャクしているが、寅さんは飃一郎と意気投合して高梁に残る。そこで「本当の人の暮らし」についての説教を受け、反省の気持ちと共に柴又へ。同じ頃、門前では、六波羅貴子（池内淳子）が喫茶店「ローク」を開店。女手一つで、小学生の息子を育てる貴子に、寅さんの想いは募るばかり・・・

刑期を終えて出所した福田清造と加東一郎は、、四十に達しようとする自分達の年齢を考え、まともな仕事につこうと別れることになった。それから一年後、東京港で荷役作業をしている労働者の中に清造がいた。彼は、急病人がでると医者のように手馴れた仕草で病人を治し、小金をためて故郷の緑ケ島へ両親の墓をたてようと帰ってきた。

「男はつらいよ」シリーズ第1作。 20年振りに故郷、東京は葛飾柴又に帰ってきた車寅次郎（渥美清）。ちょうど庚申の祭りの最中で、早速祭りに参加する寅次郎。そんな中、懐かしいおいちゃん（森川信）、おばちゃん（三崎千恵子）や妹さくら（倍賞千恵子）に涙の再会を果たす。翌日、さくらの見合いに出席した寅次郎だが、酔ったあげくの大失態。見合いをぶち壊した寅次郎はおいちゃんらと大ゲンカし、柴又を去っていく。その後、寅次郎は旅先の奈良で旅行中の御前様（笠智衆）とその娘・坪内冬子（光本幸子）と再会。幼なじみゆえ、気さくな冬子に恋をした寅さんは、帰郷してからも冬子のもとへ日参する。一方、裏の印刷工場につとめる諏訪博（前田吟）は、さくらへ想いを寄せていた・・・

A group of ne'er-do-wells live happily in the slums of what is now Tokyo and have a number of adventures: they get drunk and go whoring, revenge themselves on cruel landlords, animate the corpse of a money-lender in order to frighten people. Then they assist at the marriage of a lovely girl and almost kill themselves gambling to provide her with a dowry.

When her only relative, her elder brother is accused of robbing and murdering an old woman loan-shark, pretty, young Kiriko travels from her home in Kyushu to Tokyo to get Japan's top lawyer to defend her brother. Unfortunately her naive idealism is shattered when the lawyer refuses to take the case based on her insufficient funds. What follows is a long determined revenge plot that sees the heroine become a Tokyo bar hostess and worse to punish the lawyer. The plot thickens with another murder mystery and a sleuthing reporter.

A young woman begins murdering all those responsible for her ailing father's condition. Because the girl is so outwardly sweet and innocent, the detective looking into the deaths does not suspect her.
