McCurry: The Pursuit of Colour
Cinematography
If something of import has taken place in our lifetimes, chances are that Steve McCurry has photographed it, from the wars in the Arab world to the 9/11 attacks. Denis Delestrac’s documentary on the photographer charts McCurry’s journey through a restless life spent on constant move, chronicling our times and living with the intense loneliness and trauma that came along with his work. Today, surrounded by a loving family, McCurry is finally home but never not in the pursuit of color.
Latin Noir
Cinematography
In the land of the Zapatistas, Augusto Pinochet, and Fidel Castro, what are the stories Latin Americans have been telling to confront their troubled past? The film travels to 5 Latin American cities, to meet with famous crime novelists Leonardo Padura (Havana), Luis Sepulveda (Santiago), Paco Ignacio Taibo II (Mexico City), Santiago Roncagliolo (Lima) and Claudia Pineiro (Buenos Aires). Through their stories, we discover a unique genre of flourishing literature, strikingly different from its North American or Nordic counterparts: it's political, dark, and crimes are committed by the state itself.
A Word to the Wise
Cinematography
The Solomon Islands — a constellation of 900 islands scattered in the South Pacific far from any major continent — remain one of the least disturbed places on Earth. There, you’ll find tangled jungles, crystaline waters and small communities of people who retain a deep and intrinsic connection with the ocean, land and history of their home. The story of the islands is told in this short film by Douglas Lui Fu’oa, a husband, father and amateur anthropologist who believes in living in harmony with nature, respecting the environment and understanding your roots

The Worlds of Philip K. Dick
Director of Photography
The American cult writer, Philip K. Dick was responsible for some of the most iconic novels of the twentieth century. This documentary looks behind the famous author and examines his unique vision of the future with the assistance of philosophers, scientists, biographers, writers, friends and family. We draw upon Philip K. Dick’s work as well as various cinematographic adaptations of his novels (Blade Runner, Minority Report, Total Recall, and more) in order to illustrate the extent to which K. Dick’s oeuvre foretold the world that has become our own today. The film will take the viewer on a fascinating journey to discover this extraordinary writer and to observe our contemporary society with a critical eye by delving into three of K. Dick’s main obsessions: the human being and his double, a controlled society and what is reality?
