出産を間近に控えたサラ（レイチェル・ニコルズ）は、突然の交通事故で夫を亡くし、補聴器なしでは耳が聞こえない状態になった。わが子の誕生を心の支えに暮らしていたある晩、突如見知らぬ女（ローラ・ハリング）が家に侵入し、サラを殺そうと襲い掛かってくる。逃げ惑う中、補聴器が壊れて何も聞こえなくなった上に、陣痛が起きる。
