An immigration lawyer is unwittingly entangled in a money-laundering scheme where his only chance to survive is to confront the same people who set him up.

Michelle, a young teen in Colorado, loses her faith amidst extreme hardships and brief homelessness. With a mother battling drug and alcohol addiction since she was little, and war veteran father battling extreme PTSD, violence and dysfunction are the norm. But with a grandmother strong in her faith, and new friendships at school that break down walls, Michelle begins to realize that sometimes hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.

Employees at a Bennigan's-like restaurant (called, creatively enough, Shenanigan's), kill time before their real lives get started. But while they wait, they'll have to deal with picky customers who want their steak cooked to order and enthusiastic managers who want to build the perfect wait staff. Luckily, these employees have effective revenge tactics.

Violence and murder as seen through the eyes of a young man infuse this story that parallels the tragedy of Columbine.
