Raudel has been haunted since childhood by the sight of a strange light. Now, at the age of 27, he dedicates himself to scrapping ships in Bahia Honda, Cuba, a place where the line that separates the living from the dead is almost invisible.

Somewhere on the coast of Cuba, three brothers and sisters spend the day by the sea. Laura Gabay observes them as well as the world they are constructing for themselves in the solitude of the shoreline. Time passes and, as the sun goes down, they are still there. Their gestures and games, which at first appear anodyne, gradually reveal the darker social reality of the island and its inhabitants.

Regina and Mauricio set out on a trip to meaningful places from their 30 years of marriage, places they had never imagined they would return to. Halfway through the trip, they split up when Regina goes to celebrate her mother's birthday. Everardo, Regina's father, never accepted a husband for his daughter who didn't measure up to his expectations. During the family celebration, a phone call from Mauricio surprises everyone.

In a fumigation centre in Havana, Mayelín has the ungrateful task of fining citizens who infringe sanitary regulations. Apart from fighting dengue and disciplining her workers, she is, herself, under pressure from one of her supervisors. Mayelín must learn to find her place within a stressful and sometimes aggressive work environment.
