ジョーは離婚して戻ってきた娘や孫と一緒に暮らしながら、親友のウィリーやアルとブルックリンの公園でローンボウリングをするのが日課になっていた。彼らは40年間、ウェクスラー社で働き、定年後は悠々自適な年金生活を送るはずが、会社の所有者が変わったことで年金がもらえなくなる。さらにジョーは住宅ローンのことで銀行に相談に行くが相手にしてもらえない。その時、銀行強盗事件が起き、ジョーはある計画を思い付く。
