悪の天才メガマインドは、自分と正反対に人々の人気と尊敬を集めるスーパーヒーロー・メトロマンをライバルと定め、果てしない争いを続けていた。だがあるとき、メガマインドはついにメトロマンを倒し、骨に変えてしまう。自分でもまさか信じていなかった勝利に、メガマインドは喜びより戸惑いを覚える。宿敵を失った彼は悪行にも張り合いをなくし、やむなく自らの力で新たなライバルヒーローを作り出そうとする。

旅の末、フィオナの呪いを解き、無事に結婚したシュレックとフィオナ。幸せな日々を送っていたが、ある日フィオナの両親から、結婚の祝いを行うので来る様にとの手紙が届く。嫌われるに決まっていると最初は渋っていたシュレックだが、同じく結婚したドラゴンと近頃気まずいというドンキーと共に仕方なくフィオナの故郷「遙か彼方の王国」に旅立ち、到着するもシュレックの予想通り、シュレックや怪物姿のフィオナを見た両親はびっくりし、怪物という偏見と考えが合わないことでシュレックと国王は喧嘩をしてしまう。

Frantic about a popularity contest in which these cities are competing, they jockey for top position while arguing between themselves. Highlighting their separate personalities, each city had his or her own reason why they should be "America's favorite city."
