Sam Heesen was born in Sydney, Australia, October 6th, 1988. When he was ten days old he moved to Bangladesh, where he lived for four years. From there he moved to Costa Rica, Indonesia, and India. At the age of 14 he moved to California and began working on films and thinking about light. He now works as a cinematographer in New York.
