1950年代のハリウッド。某メジャースタジオでは、社運を懸けたスペクタクル超大作『ヘイル、シーザー!』が撮影されていた。しかし主演俳優である大スターのウィットロックが何者かに誘拐され、現場は大混乱。事態の収拾を任されたのは、スタジオの様々な問題を片付ける“何でも屋”のエディだった。セクシーな若手女優や、人気ミュージカルスター、演技が下手な西部劇俳優たちを巻き込んで、エディは事件解決に挑むが…。
