Saburô Yokoi

高価な機械の体を手に入れた富裕層が、生身の体のままの貧しい人々を迫害している未来の地球。貧しい少年・星野鉄郎はスラム街で、機械の体を無料でくれるというアンドロメダ星に行くことを夢見て暮らしている。ある日、鉄郎は、アンドロメダ行き超特急列車“銀河鉄道”のパスをくれるという美女“メーテル”に出会う。彼女に母の面影を見た鉄郎はメーテルに同行することを決める。
