人里離れた土地に住み、ヒビオルと呼ばれる布に日々の出来事を織り込みながら静かに暮らすイオルフの民。10代半ばで外見の成長が止まり数百年の寿命を持つ彼らは、“別れの一族"と呼ばれ、生ける伝説とされていた。両親のいないイオルフの少女マキアは、仲間に囲まれた穏やかな日々を過ごしながらも孤独を感じていた。ある日、イオルフの長寿の血を求め、レナトと呼ばれる古の獣に跨りメザーテ軍が攻め込んできてイオルフ一番の美女レイリアはメザーテに連れさられ、マキアが密かに想いを寄せる少年クリムは行方不明になる。マキアはなんとか逃げ出したが、仲間も帰る場所も失ってしまう。虚ろな心で暗い森をさまようマキア。そこで呼び寄せられるように出会ったのは、親を亡くしたばかりの“ひとりぼっち"の赤ん坊だった。

木ノ葉の里に、死んだはずの“暁”メンバーたちが襲来してきた。ナルト達は撃退し、家族たちが暖かく迎える。ただ一人、天涯孤独の身であるナルトを除いて･･･。そんなナルトと、些細な親子喧嘩で家を飛び出してきたサクラの前に“うちはマダラ”が現れ、恐るべき瞳術を発動させる。ふと気がつくと、仮面の男は消え去り平穏な木ノ葉の里が帰ってきた。だが、そこに住む人々は何かがおかしい。さらにナルトの元には、本来この世にいるはずのない男女二人が･･･。
