Set along the river basin of Shimane Prefeture's Takatsu River, a government-protected river, this drama portrays various people living in an area burdened by decreasing population as they carry on the tradition of "Kagura" Shinto music and dance which is said to be the roots of Kabuki. Directing from his own screenplay is Nishikori Yoshinari of Railways. Saito Manabu (Komoto Masahiro) operates a ranch on a mountain and worries his son Tatsuya (Ishikawa Raizo) has been making a habit of skipping Kagura practice. Then Manabu learns his alma mater elementary school will be closed down.

予報が当たらないと話題の気象予報士・重一郎（リリー・フランキー）は、さほど不満もなく日々適当に過ごしていた。ある日、空飛ぶ円盤と遭遇した彼は、自分は火星人で人類を救う使命があると突然覚醒する。一方、息子の一雄（亀梨和也）は水星人、娘の暁子（橋本愛）は金星人として目覚め、それぞれの方法で世界を救おうと使命感に燃えるが、妻の伊余子（中嶋朋子）だけは覚醒せず地球人のままで……。

University student Keisuke returns to his hometown during his summer holiday and takes a part-time job at a run-down movie theater. However, his boss Ruka, a projectionist who lives on the premises, has not set foot outside in three years, and always falls into a deep depression on Mondays. Keisuke feels himself becoming attracted to the mysterious Ruka, but...

昭和55年、ある廃ビルで、質屋の店主が殺される事件が発生。決定的な証拠が不十分のまま、警察の捜査は打ち切られるが、担当刑事の笹垣は、ガス中毒死をとげた容疑者、西本文代の10歳の娘である雪穂の妙に大人びた態度と、被害者の息子でどこか暗い目をした10歳の少年・亮司の姿が脳裏に焼き付き、妙な割り切れなさを覚える。それから歳月は流れ、大人に成長した雪穂と亮司の周囲で、再び不可解な事件が続発するようになる。

Two 17 year old teens are hospitalized for different reasons. Ezaki suffers from Hepatitis A, while Akiba is due to a weak heart. The relationship between these two hospital patients soon blossoms into romance.

Suzuki Sora is a cheerful country girl from the small town of Bie. She made a promise to her father, and following this promise applies and is accepted for a magic intership in Tokyo, where she will face the life in a big city. While training to get better with her magic, she meets a mysterious boy also practicing to become a mage. While he can not use magic that well and he seems distant and cold at first, Sora’s fate intertwines with his and the two are thrown together, learning a lot of new things about life and each other.
