Mona’s marriage with Gieri has gone a bit stale after twenty years. Inspired by the unorthodox proposals of the new parish priest, she tries to revive her marriage, which causes great turmoil, not only for Gieri but the entire village community.

Nora is a young housewife and mother, living in a quaint little village with her husband and their two sons. The Swiss countryside is untouched by the major social upheavals the movement of 1968 has brought about. Nora’s life is not affected either; she is a quiet person who is liked by everybody – until she starts to publicly fight for women’s suffrage, which the men are due to vote on in a ballot on February 7, 1971.

幼いころ両親を亡くした少女ハイジは、アルプスの山小屋に暮らす祖父アルムおんじのもとに引き取られる。無愛想で人嫌いのおんじは孫娘との同居に気乗りがしなかったが、いつしか天真爛漫なハイジに孤独を癒やされていく。ハイジもまたおんじの不器用な優しさに触れ、やがて2人は互いを家族として受け入れる。だがそんなある日、ハイジは大富豪の令嬢クララの話し相手として大都会のお屋敷に連れて行かれる。
