Mysterious songstress Fang Biyu is loved by two brothers, Qiwei and Qijun. After freeing herself from the clutches of gangsters, she gives her heart to Qiwei. Tragedy comes knocking on the door when one of the gangsters comes out of prison, and Qiwei dies in a car accident. Blamed for her husband's death, Biyu is forced to go back to singing to make a living, but hopes to reunite with her son and return to the family one day.

One morning, Kazue is nearly knocked over by a motorbike in front of an instrument store, breaking all the records that she was carrying. The two connect instantly and begin seeing each other every day. However, Iwai, Yukio’s foster parent, is concerned - Yukio had been exposed to the atomic bomb when he was four years old and had been showing symptoms of atomic radiation, hospitalizing him in the Genbaku Atomic Bomb Survivor’s Hospital. Unfortunately, nobody knows when the symptoms may return. When Yukio passes out from anemia during work, he decides to part with Kazue. A couple of days later, Yukio tells her of his destiny at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, but Kazue passionately encourages him.

紙幣印刷用のスカシ入り和紙十億八千万円相当が強奪され、運転手二人が殺されたという臨時ニュースに、拳銃の腕は無敵だがガラスの音に弱い“ガラスのジョー”こと近藤疑次は部屋を飛び出した。同じころ“週刊犯罪”の編集長・通称“計算機の啓"は、古いグラビアに載っている、贋金づくり日本一“坂本名人”の顔をにらんでいた。もうひとり、ニヤリと笑ってジムを飛び出したのは、通称“ブル健”こと芹沢健。三人の目的は、スカシ入りの紙を盗んだ連中に、贋幣の名人・坂本老人を高く売りこむことだ。肝心の坂本名人は、二日後に東南アジアから帰国予定。その日、羽田空港で顔を合わせたガラスのジョー、計算機の哲、ブル健の三人は顔なじみのためギョッとしたが、素知らぬ顔。ところがようやく姿を現した坂本名人は、ポーカーフェイスの秀、ビッグの修という二人の殺し屋に車で連れ去られてしまった。二人は、和紙輸送の運転手たちを殺した張本人だ。ジョーは秀の持っていた特殊拳銃を手がかりに、平和ビルの一室をつきとめた。だがそこには秋山とも子という若い美人がひとりだけ。彼女はパリ行の貯金をするために電話番のアルバイトをしている学生だった。そこにジョーの乗り込みを探知していた相手から電話がかかり、彼女もクビになってしまった。ジョーのせいで失職したと、どこまでもついてくるとも子に、さすがのジョーもがっくり。その頃、キャバレー・アカプルコの秘密の地下室では、坂本名人がせっせと銅版を掘っていた…。

Satake Shoji had been a trapeze artist in the Ezaki Circus, but when Shingo, his team mate, slipped and fell to his death, he had felt responsible and, sick at heart, left the circus for a life at sea. On land again Shoji goes to a cabaret where he is soon involved in a brawl. Kasamatsu, the owner of the cabaret, impressed by Shoji's strength, offers him a job as his bodyguard. The next morning Shoji visits Shingo's grave and meets Miyako, Shingo's former sweetheart, who is still a trapeze performer and now the star of the Kuroko Circus which Shoji realizes Kasamatsu intends to control.

A conflict between two yakuza families in Tokyo, the Izus and the Yoshidas, has recently broken out. When an Izu underling starts a fight with a Yoshida man, Fuyu, the Izu family sends Tsuruta, a senior member of the clan, to make a personal apology to Fuyu. Tsuruta discovers that the woman he is in love with is Fuyu's sister, Tatsuko. Tsuruta ends up gambling with a swindler, who is in fact Tatsuko's husband. (The general plot of the film was re-used for Seijun Suzuki's Kanto Wanderer).
