大富豪だった父の財産を引き継いだ実業家・ニコラスは、父親が自殺した年齢である48歳の誕生日を迎える。久しぶりに会った弟は誕生日プレゼントとして、CRSという会社の紹介状を渡す。その後、たまたまCRS社のオフィスを見つけたニコラスは軽い気持ちでCRSの提供するゲームに参加することとなったが、その後、次々とニコラスの身の回りで不思議な出来事が起き始める。
