Toshiko Hayashi
三田静香は劇団「海」の研究生で、女優になるために努力を重ねる20歳の女性。そんな真摯な静香を公園で見初めた森口は元劇団員の26歳、今は不動産屋の社員をしている。静香は劇団の次回公演『Wの悲劇』の主役選考オーディションに臨むが、同期のかおりが役を射止め、静香は物語の冒頭でひとことだけ台詞のある端役を担当することになった。オーディションに落ちて落ち込む静香に、森口は俳優時代の心理的な苦悩を語る。そして、森口は、静香がスターになれなかったらという条件で結婚を申し込み、反対に静香が役者として成功した場合はサヨナラの意味も込めて楽屋に大きな花束を贈ることを約束する。
