Recently dumped by his fiancée, Mamiya meets a girl on a dating app. However, when he comes out of the shower, the girl is dead on his bed. Upset Mamiya decides to bury the body in the woods, however it mysteriously disappears from his car trunk... When he finds out that she is a popular influencer of the SNS called “Mimi”, he follows her footsteps which she left on Mimi, and slowly becomes attracted to the girl who turns out to be just as lonely as he is.
Sakura is a moody teenage girl who lives close to the US military base in the city of Yamato, Japan. One day, her mother's American soldier boyfriend's daughter REI comes from California to visit her family.

The father remembers his late wife, and raising his daughter alone. Their fun time together is tinged with the knowledge that it is about to end. Rakugo performer Kyotaro Yanagiya appears in his first leading film role, and rising star Anna Ishii plays the sensitive Riko. The eccentric supporting cast includes Romi Park, Akihiro Kakuta, Keiko Yanagawa, Kei Ishibashi, LaSalle Ishii, and Momiji Yamamura.

He begins to keep a journal. One day, he finds his mother’s diary, in which she details her imaginary life with Yuji’s unborn little brother. “Nice to Meet You” looks into the verity of a real life hidden under a lie, by depicting an alienated mother and son trying to communicate through a fictional diary.
