『スター・トレック』が大好きで、その知識では誰にも負けないウェンディの趣味は、自分なりの『スター・トレック』の脚本を書くこと。自閉症を抱える彼女は、ワケあって唯一の肉親である姉・オードリーと離れて暮らし、ソーシャルワーカーのスコッティの協力を得てアルバイトも始めた。ある日、『スター・トレック』脚本コンテストが開催されることを知った彼女は、渾身の作を書き上げるが、もう郵送では締切に間に合わないと気付き、愛犬ピートと一緒にハリウッドまで数百キロの旅に出ることを決意する。500ページの脚本と、胸に秘めた“ある願い”を携えて―。

Polar opposites meet and fall in love, but it isn't long before their relationship is on the rocks. In order to get through the holiday season without too much drama they decide to pretend they are still a couple, but their plan takes an unexpected turn.
