Michael’s darkly comic, stream-of-consciousness monologue raises questions of identity, narrative, self-awareness and the limits of the medium itself.

ロサンゼルスの海沿いに位置する高級住宅街パロス・ベルデスに引っ越してきた14歳のメディナ。外科医の父親を中心に、一見幸せそうに見えた家族は、メディナは学校に馴染めず、メディナの双子の兄はドラッグに溺れていき、母親は妊娠したこともあり過食症で心を病み、父親は愛人を作って出ていってしまいバラバラになってしまう。そんなメディナを癒やしてくれるのはサーフィン。彼女はサーフィンに打ち込み現実の嫌なことを忘れようとする。

She plans to sell it and use the profits to buy her dream home in New York City. But the longer Jules stays on the farm and the more she learns how important Christmas Land has been to so many families, the more Jules starts to question her motives to sell.
