手つかずの自然が残り、自然保護区にも指定されている南フランスの国立公園。小さな虫たちは森で平和な日々を過ごしていたが、ある日、ピクニックをしていた人間が残していった角砂糖をめぐり、黒アリと赤アリの間で争奪戦が起こる。その争いに一匹のてんとう虫が巻き込まれてしまう。
