大勢の脚本家たちが、地上に住む人々の“人生のシナリオ”を書いている天界。そこでお茶くみをしている茶助は、ある脚本家が担当する女性ユリに惹かれる。しかし、ユリが交通事故で亡くなる事実を知って衝撃を受けた茶助は、何とかしたいと天界を抜け出して地上へ向かう。

The year is 2027. In modern day Tokyo, people can freely enjoy use of the internet as a result of the widespread availability of the Ethernet across the world. In all aspects, this is considered a modern communication revolution. The revolutionary cloud operating system, known as ESC-A, has spread wildly among Japan's youth along with the internet.
