凶悪宇宙人ゴーグに母星を奪われ、宇宙を放浪するブーヴたち。彼らは、ゴーグが存在を知らない地球への移住を決定、高度な科学力で全人類を立ち退かせる。そんな中、ドジばかりで友達のいないブーヴのオウは、引っ越しパーティーの招待状を誤ってゴーグにまで送ってしまった。反逆者として追われる身となった彼は、隠れていた人間の少女チップと出会う。やがてオウはブーヴに連れて行かれたチップの母親を捜す手伝いをすることになる。

ある日の朝、ノーマとアーサー夫妻の元に、赤いボタン付きの装置が入った箱が届く。夕方、謎めいた男がノーマを訪ね「このボタンを押せば100万ドルを手に入れられるが、代わりに見知らぬ誰かが死ぬ。考える猶予は24時間」と驚くべき提案を持ちかける。二人は迷いながらもボタンを押してしまう。
